Bio

William J. Cagle was born and raised in Bowling Green, Ohio surrounded by corn and books. He graduated in 2020 from Columbia University in the City of New York with a BA in Creative Writing and a BA in Anthropology, and is now completing an MFA in Speculative Fiction at Sarah Lawrence College. In the spring of 2022, he began working as an Audio Writer for the production company FRQNCY Media, where he writes scripts for a variety of podcast clients. He is an omnivorous geek with a deep interest in tabletop games, archaeology, sit-coms, environmentalism, and Shakespeare. His first publication, “The Prince in the Tower,” was published by Ember: A Journal of Luminous Things in 2016, and later produced by Audible as an audiobook. He has also been published by Quarto, Columbia’s literary magazine. Currently, he is working on revising a trilogy of fantasy novels — part of an ongoing world-building project (see the WIP page for artwork of the characters from artist Riva Weinstein).
